Rev. Pat Hammond
I am a lifelong Presbyterian and I served the Church as an ordained Ruling Elder for 28 years before discerning my call to seminary. I graduated from Dubuque Theological Seminary in May, 2012 and was ordained as a Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in August, 2013. Currently, I serve as the Temporary Associate Pastor for Congregational Care here at First Presbyterian Church. My primary duties include pastoral care, visitation, teaching small groups, and helping plan and lead weekly worship. I have a passion for mission and leadership development.
I have served in many capacities within the Presbytery of South Dakota including Moderator of Presbytery, Moderator of Council, Moderator of the Mission Coordination Committee, member of the Korean Commission as well as other commissions and task forces. Currently, I serve the Synod of Lakes and Prairies as a Commissioner and member of the Personnel Committee.
After a career as a geologist/hydrogeologist, my interests in ministry now center on helping others discern where God is calling them and helping to equip and encourage others to follow their call. In my spare time I enjoy reading, traveling, visiting friends and especially spending time with my family.
