Food & Fun

Food and Fun is an important part of the life of our church. When a meal is shared, there is a bonding together as a family. It gives us the opportunity to fellowship with one another on one of the most basic levels. We are not only feeding the body, but the soul as well, when we gather together. Some of the ways we are able to join together are:

Sunday Morning Coffee Fellowship

Between worship services coffee, cookies, mini muffins and assorted goodies are served in the Lounge, where there are tables to sit together and visit and get to know each other.

WNL! (Wednesday Night Live!)

A free will offering meal is served from 5:15 to 6:15 pm in the Lower Level Kitchen and Dining Room. This is a great way to start the WNL! activities that take place throughout the evening. No need to worry about what to make for supper before heading off to church. Eat here and enjoy the fellowship of your friends and make new ones. By the way, the food is good too! Other Food and Fun Opportunities

There are also other events throughout the year that are planned. One example is the potluck meal at the Sunday in the Park summer service.

Thanksgiving Meal

First Presbyterian also holds an annual Thanksgiving Day meal that is held the week of Thanksgiving. Our church also invites several organizations to eat with us, some being Volunteers of America, Glory House, McCrossan's Boy's Ranch to name a few. The church provides the turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, vegetable, and stuffing. The congregation brings salads and desserts. We start at about 8:30 in the morning, getting the turkeys started. We almost have more fun preparing the meal together, and it is a wonderful time together as a group. P.S. Our gravy can beat grandma's!!!
