Welcome

If you are looking for a place to be honest about who you are and will be challenged to grow in your Christian faith, then you will feel warmly welcomed and right at home with this group of God's people. Our desire together is to follow Jesus in our relationships with one another and our daily lives.

The vision that we believe God has given to this congregation is to be the visible face of Christ in the Sioux Falls area. That means that we must first come to know Christ and to have our lives align with His teaching. The church becomes a place to learn and grow, love and be loved, fail and be accepted, experience forgiveness and be encouraged, while receiving training in what it means to be a Christ-like person.

Our gathering times together in worship, study and prayer, having meals and laughing, and serving the needs of the community, are important to our corporate life. Each one of us is unique and beautiful, but we need each other in order to truly become the people God intends us to be. We encourage all who call First Presbyterian Church their home to become involved as deeply as they are able in the life of the congregation, so that it will become second nature for us to be a Christ-like presence in all of our daily activities.

If you are new in coming to the church, you are encouraged to attend three or four times, before you make up your mind if this is where God would have you put down your spiritual roots. Each week will provide a little different experience and the cumulative effect can be life-changing.
