Rev. Dr. Charles Ayars

I grew up going to church but it wasn't until mid-college that Jesus became real to me. That began a journey that continues to this day. I love God and the amazing thing is that God loves me even more. God slowly and patiently guided me towards the pastoral ministry (That's a story in itself. Ask me about it sometime.) I have a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California and a Doctor of Ministry from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. I am a trained spiritual director. My wife, Rose, and I moved to Sioux Falls from Spokane, Washington and I began my ministry with this congregation in September of 2007. I have previously pastored congregations in Ohio, Texas, New York City and Long Island. I have two adult sons, Jordan, who lives in Spokane, Washington and works for Wells Fargo, and Jonathan, who is a student at the University of Sioux Falls. I enjoy relaxing with computer games, gardening, bike riding and spending time with Rose.
